Coach and tour operators and group travel organisers have been invited to a trade event at the new Royal Mint Experience (November 21).
The trip to the Royal Mint’s new visitor attraction in Llantrisant has been organised with UK travel trade specialists Steve Reed Tourism Ltd, with support from local tourism businesses and Southern Wales Tourism.
Several tour operators will be hosted at the nearby Vale Resort in the Vale of Glamorgan.
The travel trade will be able to go behind the scenes at the world’s leading export mint and follow the journey of a coin from ‘blank to bank’.
Claire Evans, marketing manager at The Royal Mint Experience, said: “Coach and tour operators and group travel organisers will find that their groups will be able to enjoy a superb and memorable insight into the UK’s oldest manufacturer – the famous Royal Mint.
“Once based in the infamous Tower of London, it’s now of course a vital part of South Wales here in Llantrisant.
“We have high quality guided factory tours, an amazing exhibition, as well as a truly unique peek at thousands of coins being produced in the Striking Hall.
“Visitors are also given the opportunity to strike their own £1 coin as a super memento of their visit to The Royal Mint Experience.
“We would be happy to arrange a preview visit to the Royal Mint looking to bring their groups to the attraction.”
The Royal Mint Experience opened in May and up to 130,000 UK and overseas visitors are expected at the attraction each year.
