Two new events in Leeds in October will focus on opportunities in the north, highlighting the potential of tourism’s ‘Northern Powerhouse’.
The Go North Tourism Conference (October 28) features top speakers debating key issues, and the Go Travel Show North (October 29) is an exhibition, showcasing northern attractions in The Royal Armouries Leeds.
Speakers and panellists at the conference will come from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Department for Transport (DfT), tour operators, destinations, attractions and travelGBI.
Exhibitors at the exhibition include Alfa Travel, Castle Howard, Discover Durham, Visit Leeds, Scarborough Council, Best Western Hotels, Great Days Travel Group, Norman Allen Group Travel, The Lowry and the Quays, David Urquart Travel, Ripley Castle and Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
One of the themed zones will be ‘Discover Britain’s Delightful Towns’ – introduced at the inaugural Go Travel Show in London in January.
Discover Durham is offering a familiarisation visit to County Durham (October 28) and Alfa Travel of Lancashire and Fletchers Coaches of North Yorkshire will provide free travel to the exhibition.
