Drayton Manor welcomes new sales manager

Drayton Manor Park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, has recruited Lisa Cook to join its sales department as sales manager.

Her career in the commercial events industry spans 23 years, including nine years at the ICC Birmingham.

She said: “As a frequent visitor to the park with my family, I know the strengths the park has. I understand the importance of forming lasting relationships with customers for our mutual benefit and cannot wait to get involved.”

Alexa Hickling, head of sales and marketing, added: “She brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge and will strengthen our team even further.”

The family attraction is home to Europe’s only Thomas Land, which welcomed a host of new rides and attractions in 2015.

And new for the park in 2016 was the 30-minute high ropes activity VertiGO, with two sky rails suitable for all abilities.

The park features white-knuckle rides, including the Apocalypse, Shockwave, Maelstrom and the acrobatic aeroplane flight, Air Race.

Drayton Manor Park offers packages for group bookings, which include free entry for one organiser per coach and free parking for all coaches.

• Drayton Manor Zoo, part of Drayton Manor Park, has become a full member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA).

Chris Mitchell, zoo manager, said: “We are delighted with our EAZA membership and I think it is a great reflection of the work we do here, and how we go above and beyond to make sure all the animals’ needs are met.”

Drayton Manor Zoo has a wide collection of creatures including a pair of critically endangered Sumatran tigers, Red Kangaroos, spider monkeys, cotton topped tamarins and a meerkat mob.
