Wyndham steps up peer-to-peer presence

Wyndham Vacation Rentals UK has made an undisclosed investment in London short-stay accommodation rental firm Veeve.

The owner of cottages.com, Hoseasons and James Villas will support and strengthen the expansion of Veeve’s portfolio, both in London and internationally.

Founded in 2011, Veeve claims to be the market-leader in upmarket London rentals for short stays, with a managed portfolio of more than 1,000 hand-picked homes across the capital.

The business offers a turnkey service for owners to earn money when they are not using their homes by handling marketing, reservations, property management and housekeeping.

Veeve provides guests with check-in assistance, linens and toiletries and general support as well as offering extra conveniences such as grocery deliveries, concierge assistance and maid service.

Geoff Cowley, Wyndham Vacation Rentals UK managing director, said: “We are delighted to be working with Veeve to bring their beautiful properties across London to a wider audience and grow the serviced rental options we can offer travellers in other major urban destinations.

“Veeve’s mission to make home rentals as effortless as possible complements our ‘peer-to-peer plus’ approach which goes beyond simply connecting travellers to hosts to provide both with a range of services to simplify the process.”

Jonny Morris, Veeve co-founder and chief executive, added: “Wyndham was an early mover in holiday rentals and has terrific scale and experience.

“I look forward to working with them and our existing investors Smedvig Capital, on our plans to attract more owners to Veeve, generate more bookings and accelerate our international expansion.”
