Self-made millionaire Deirdre Bounds will be the keynote speaker at UKinbound’s Annual Convention next month in Plymouth (February 8-10).
She will be joined at the event by stand-up comedian Ed Gamble, who will perform at the gala dinner and present the excellence awards.
Bounds started her ethical travel company i-to-i while living in a tiny bedsit, and sold it 10 years later for a reported £20 million in 2007.
She is also a best-selling author, TV presenter and consultant, advising businesses about the importance of individuality, creativity and ethical consumerism.
Comedian Gamble is a writer and actor, and has provided tour support for Greg Davies, Russell Kane, and Chris Addison.
He is currently touring the UK with his new show, Stampede.
The three-day convention programme also includes the UKinbound annual general meeting; an extended B2B workshop; familiarisation trips to explore the south west; and the association’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Furthermore, it will highlight preparations in Plymouth for the Mayflower 400 commemorations in 2020.
The destination is seeing a multimillion-pound redevelopment as it will be the UK lead city for celebrations in the UK, the US and Holland.
The Mayflower set sail for America on September 16, 1620, and major transatlantic and global events are proposed to mark the 400th anniversary.
More than 250 UKinbound members are expected to attend the convention.
