Extra UK dates have been added to the world premiere tour of Matthew Bourne’s production of The Red Shoes.
The tour will now continue to Sheffield Lyceum (May 30-June 3); Glasgow King’s Theatre (June 6-10); Wycombe Swan (June 13-27); and the Liverpool Empire (June 27–July 1).
The Red Shoes will then return to The Lowry, Salford (July 11-15) and Birmingham Hippodrome (July 19-22).
The production sold out at The Lowry in November 2016 and had already sold out at Birmingham Hippodrome before its first visit in February 2017.
The tour opened at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in November and had sell-out performances at Sadler’s Wells, London, over Christmas.
It is at Milton Keynes until February 18, then moves on to Norwich, Nottingham, Cardiff, Southampton, Bradford Bristol, Wimbledon, Canterbury, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Leicester.
Based on the Academy Award-winning movie, The Red Shoes is a “tale of obsession, possession and one girl’s dream to be the greatest dancer in the world”.
