Cameron Mackintosh has unveiled the main cast members for the UK and Ireland tour of his production of the musical Miss Saigon.
It will be at Curve, Leicester (July 1-22), then moves to Birmingham and Dublin, before reaching Cardiff in November.
It will be at Edinburgh from January 2018, then travels to Southampton, Manchester, Bristol, Plymouth and finally Norwich during August and September 2018.
Red Concepcion will play ‘The Engineer’, Sooha Kim is ‘Kim’ (pictured), Ashley Gilmour is ‘Chris’, Zoë Doano is ‘Ellen’ and Gerald Santos is ‘Thuy’.
Concepcion’s many theatre credits in his native Philippines include Adam/Felicia in Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
Kim made her professional debut in this recent production of Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre where she covered the role of Kim before going on to play the role in the Japanese production.
This production of Miss Saigon recently opened on Broadway following a run in London’s West End.
Miss Saigon tells the story of the last days of the Vietnam War, when 17 year-old Kim is forced to work in a Saigon bar run by a notorious character known as the Engineer.
She falls in love with an American GI named Chris but they are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.
Since its London premiere in 1989, Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Miss Saigon has become one of the most successful musicals in history.
