Premier Holidays has launched a host of tactical offers on Channel Islands holidays to capitalise on strong demand since the general election was announced.
Its bookings for Jersey and Guernsey increased by 18% year-on-year in the weeks following the announcement of the snap general election on April 18.
The operator also hopes that uncertainty surrounding Brexit means more holidaymakers will opt for the ease of a British holiday, with a Continental flavour.
Dave Kneale (pictured), Premier Holidays national sales manager, said: “Our UK portfolio has definitely been selling well this year; we are focusing heavily on our core Channel Islands product and giving it a big push for the summer months.
“With all the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, the general election and other worldwide events, the Channel Islands make the ideal stay-at-home holiday for families and couples, while providing a Continental feeling at the same time.”
Travel agents can earn £5 in shopping vouchers for every inclusive Channel Islands booking.
Posters and digital images showcasing the activities and sights on both islands can be downloaded from Premier’s website to enable agents to promote the campaigns in their branches and on social media.
Premier Holidays also held two fam trips to Jersey in March and April for agents who had never visited the island.
It reported that the agents’ feedback was “extremely positive”, with agents feeling more confident in selling Jersey.
