Dorset showcases its attractions to groups

Dorset’s Jurassic Coast will be in the spotlight during a fam trip for group travel organisers (October 1-5).

Called the Fish and Chips, Steam Trains, Cruises and Fossils Showcase, it is being organised by Steve Reed Tourism, with Daish’s Holidays and City Cruises Poole.

GTOs will be based at the Prince Regent Hotel (pictured) on the seafront at Weymouth.

The itinerary will include Poole, Lyme Regis and Swanage, and GTOs will visit heritage attractions such as Athelhampton House and Gardens and Bovington Tank Museum.

Daish’s Holidays has hotels in Weymouth, Eastbourne, Newquay, Bournemouth, Shanklin Isle of Wight, Torquay and, most recently, Llandudno.

Martin Jenkins, Daish’s Holidays’ national field sales manager, said: “Each year we like to showcase one of our eight friendly and wonderfully located hotels for groups. This year it is the turn of the superb Prince Regent Hotel in Weymouth.

“We want the GTOS to see and experience for themselves our service for groups – and we particularly want them to enjoy the many attractions in the vicinity.”

Steve Reed, managing director at Steve Reed Tourism, added: “This event will showcase the wonderful Dorset region and we are very thankful to the great support we have had from the attractions concerned.”

• Steve Reed Tourism is also organising a GTO fam trip to the English Riviera, based in the seaside resort of Torquay (March 7-9 2018). Organised with the new English Riviera Business Improvement District Company, the three-day event will see tour buyers hosted in local hotels and visiting attractions in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham.
