Reviews website TripAdvisor has awarded its 2017 Certificate of Excellence to several attractions in Wales, including a castle, Iron Age village and golf resort.
The newly honoured attractions are the Newport Medieval Ship Project; Carew Castle and Tidal Mill; Castell Henllys Iron Age Village (pictured); Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park; and Cottrell Park Golf Resort in Cardiff.
The Newport Medieval Ship Project allows visitors to see the restoration of a 15th century ship.
The first timbers of the ship were found in the River Usk in June 2002.
Visitors at Carew Castle and Tidal Mill can book guided tours to find out about the 2,000-year history of the site.
Castell Henllys Iron Age Village recently opened a ‘barefoot trail’ which allows visitors to step back to the time of the Iron Age more than 2,000 years ago.
Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre offers visitors information about Pembrokeshire and is the home to art, artefacts and a discovery room.
Cottrell Park Golf Resort boasts two golf courses, a marquee, event and conferencing facilities; plus indoor and outdoor activities including snooker tables, golf simulators, nature trail and a fishing lake.
Accommodation will soon to open in two on-site apartments which each can accommodate up to 10 people.
