Grand UK Holidays unveils range of rail breaks

Escorted tours specialist Grand UK Holidays has added a new range of British holidays by train in its 2018 brochure.

The holidays by rail take customers to destinations such as Yorkshire, Northumbria, Scotland, Cornwall and the Isle of Man.

The Lakeland Explorer holiday includes travel by train from Euston to the Lake District; a trip on a steam yacht on Coniston Water; and a ride on the Haverthwaite & Lakeside Railway (pictured).

The newly released 148-page brochure has 35 new escorted holidays for the over-55s, including coach tours and half-board self-drive holidays across the UK.

Elsewhere in the brochure, there are escorted coach tours with a vintage rail theme, which offer excursions on steam trains in England, Scotland and Wales.

There is also a new separate festive supplement for Turkey & Tinsel holidays and breaks over the Christmas and New Year period.

The release of the new brochure and supplement follows the redesign of Grand UK Holidays’ website, which features an exclusive area for travel agents.

Harold Burke, sales director, said: “Our 2018 brochure is the culmination of many months of development, taking on board feedback from customers and agents.

“We have updated all our brochures, marketing material and website, making them more streamlined and easy to read – with brand consistency across all our channels.

“The brochure has inspiring imagery of our beautiful country, and the layout is crisp and clear, to help make bookings straightforward.

“We have a new agency section on our website, and travel agents can also sign up for regular email newsletters.

“Ever since Grand UK Holidays started more than 30 years ago, we have valued the role that travel agents play, as they take care of their clients and add value to the booking process.”

Other new holiday ranges for 2018 include five-day ‘Fabulous February’ breaks in the UK and ‘Winter Warner Weekend Breaks’, with Warner Hotels.

Highlights among the new escorted coach tours are ‘Wild Riviera’, exploring Torbay and Jurassic Coast, and visiting the Dartmoor Zoological Park, which inspired the Hollywood film We Bought A Zoo – and ‘Grand Tour of the West Country & Isles of Scilly’, taking in the scenic highlights of this popular destination.

Other new tours take customers to places as diverse as the Norfolk Broads, Blenheim and Liverpool, where the famous Terracotta Warriors of China will be on display.

Headquartered in Norwich, Grand UK Holidays specialises in escorted tours for the over-55s and is part of The UK Holiday Group, which includes just for groups! for group travel organisers.
