Wiltshire attraction Longleat is preparing for its fourth Festival of Light this winter and has revealed dates for key events in 2018.
Taking place on selected dates from November 5 to January 3, this year’s Chinese lantern festival has the theme of classic fairy tales.
Later in 2018, the estate will host the Longleat Food & Drink Festival (June 23-24), with celebrity chefs, live demonstrations, a pop-up market street and live outdoor music on the Longleat lawns too.
The world of predators will be the theme of the ‘killer’ animatronics exhibition (March 24-October 31).
Visitors will be able to see a life-sized great white shark; a super-sized Venus flytrap and an eerie butcher bird.
The biggest annual hot air balloon festival in Europe, Sky Safari (September 14-16), promises to be bigger and bolder for 2018 than ever.
Next year’s Festival of Light will be on selected dates from November 9.
• Next on the 2017 calendar is The Great British Autumn (October 21-29) with autumnal activities including flying owl shows, apple pressing, mud kitchens and pumpkin trails.
There will also be wicker-making workshops, pumpkin trails and carving plus chainsaw art.
