VisitEngland has partnered with Be My Guest, a series of training roadshows aimed at small accommodation providers.
The roadshows target owners of bed-and-breakfast accommodation, guesthouses, holiday rentals, small hotels, campsites and self-catering properties.
Starting in February 2018, Be My Guest will hold one-day, free-to-attend events in Southampton, Harrogate, Glasgow, Bristol, Penrith and Norwich.
The roadshows will feature a marketplace, learning roundtables and a business talks stage.
VisitEngland will support the first editions of the roadshow in Southampton and Harrogate as an industry partner.
Ross Calladine, head of business support for VisitEngland, said: “This roadshow provides a great opportunity for VisitEngland to engage with small accommodation operators and showcase the resources available to them, such as our Business Advice Hub.
“Raising awareness of the support available enhances England’s product offer, driving the benefits of tourism throughout the regions.”
VisitEngland’s activity at the roadshow will include talks covering accessible tourism trends and how accommodation providers can tap into the £12 billion ‘purple pound’ market.
The tourism agency will also highlight tourist accommodation legislation which is detailed in its ‘Pink Book’.
Diane Sheppard, event director at Be My Guest, said: “We are extremely excited to be working with VisitEngland on this new event platform for the industry.
“Our aim for the roadshow is to deliver high-level value and informative business development content for this industry in an environment that is approachable, friendly and fun.”
Be My Guest is owned by Surrey-based Quartz Smart Events, a subsidiary of Quartz Business Media, an independent exhibition company.
