The Walking Dead ride to open at Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park Resort in Surrey will have the world’s first rollercoaster with the theme of the popular zombie TV series The Walking Dead.

Opening at Easter, The Walking Dead: The Ride will have state-of-the-art special effects and a replica of the show’s watch tower.

Riders will travel through deep, dark tunnels, with realistic features bringing to life some of the most “compelling and gruesome scenes” from all seasons of The Walking Dead.

The rollercoaster is the highlight of Thorpe Park Resort’s Year of The Walking Dead events. They include The Walking Dead Living Nightmare Extreme, a live action maze (May 25-June 3); Zombie Hunt, a “battle for survival” in woodland on the outskirts of the resort (July 21-September 3); and Fright Nights, with the theme of The Walking Dead (October 5-31).

Owned by Merlin Entertainments, the resort features more than 30 rides for adults and children, live events and short breaks.
