Hayley Tamaddon to star in Thoroughly Modern Millie

Following a tour in spring 2017, Thoroughly Modern Millie will visit venues across the UK again, opening at Richmond Theatre on March 27.

Hayley Tamaddon takes on the title role of Millie Dilmount, described as “a Kansas girl determined to make it big in New York City”.

She is best known for her portrayal of Del Dingle in Emmerdale, Andrea Beckett in Coronation Street and for winning the fifth series of Dancing on Ice.

Lucas Rush returns as the evil proprietor of the Hotel Priscilla, Mrs Meers, a role he played during the 2017 tour.

The winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie is based on the 1967 Academy Award-winning film.

Set in the Jazz Age of New York in the 1920s, it features songs including Gimme Gimme and Not for the Life of Me.

After Richmond, the musical moves on to Eastbourne, Sunderland, Oxford, Torquay, Stoke-on-Trent, Bath, Bradford, Darlington, Southend, Wolverhampton, Worthing and Jersey.
