A panel of leading tourism professionals has been confirmed for The Tourism Society’s annual Question Time panel discussion at British Tourism & Travel Show 2018.
The panelists will be Encore Tickets founder John Wales – the new chairman of the Coach Toruism Association – Visit Heritage founder Sarah Greenwood; and transport and travel consultant Allan Edmondson.
The Tourism Question Time session will take place at 2.15pm on March 21, with a debate about domestic tourism chaired by Bernard Donoghue, chairman of the Tourism Alliance and director of the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.
Other speakers already confirmed for keynote sessions include: Angela Rippon; Google’s industry head of travel, Ruairidh Roberts; Justin East, director of innovation at Merlin Entertainments; Max Sinclair, founder of EcoCompanion; Andy Headington, chief executive of Adido; and Jody Farrer, marketing vice-president at Chute.
The largest domestic tourism showcase of the year returns to the NEC Birmingham next week (March 21-22), and is expected to welcome more than 2,600 attendees, including domestic tour operators, coach operators, and travel organisers.
There will be more than 270 visitor attractions, venues, destinations, hotels, transport providers, associations and destination management organisations across the UK and Ireland.
The show will also see the return of a panel session with the Association of Group Travel Organisers, facilitated by new chief executive Wendy Hartley-Scarff.
Tricia Regan (South Quay Travel), Luke Golding (Travlaw LLP), Steve Reed (Steve Reed Tourism), and Julia Passmore (GTO Association of Friends) will be among the panellists discussing the group travel market.
