Sheffield Theatres’ production of The Full Monty will tour the UK and Ireland for the last time in 2018-19.
The show will open at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham on September 3, and other tour dates include Cambridge, Chester, Dublin, Killarney, York, Bromley, Swindon, Birmingham, Darlington, Stoke, Norwich, Nottingham, Southampton and Sheffield – with more venues to be added.
The cast will be led by Gary Lucy (Hollyoaks, EastEnders, The Bill, Footballers’ Wives, and winner of Dancing on Ice) as Gaz; along with Andrew Dunn (Dinnerladies, Bremner, Bird and Fortune) as Gerald; Louis Emerick (Benidorm, Brookside, Last of the Summer Wine) as Horse; Joe Gill (Emmerdale) as Lomper; Kai Owen (Torchwood, Hollyoaks) as Dave; and James Redmond (Hollyoaks, Casualty). Further casting is to be announced.
The 2018-19 tour will be directed by Rupert Hill, a previous cast member of The Full Monty and Coronation Street actor.
Based on the film of the same name, the stage play is about six out-of-work steelworkers from Sheffield and features songs by Donna Summer, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
