Buyers from across the world are expected at next month’s VisitScotland Expo, Scotland’s flagship event for the travel trade (April 11-12).
Taking place at Glasgow’s SEC, the event will feature buyers from a wide range of sectors, including coach tour operators, group travel organisers, tourism product wholesalers, specialist and independent tour operators and travel media.
They will be able to meet 296 exhibitors from Scottish companies.
Last year’s event attracted 405 international buyers from 33 countries, and 196 UK-based buyers, who had the chance to meet 276 exhibiting Scottish companies.
Malcolm Roughead, VisitScotland chief executive, said: “Scottish tourism punches above its weight on the world stage and we need to leverage this reputation to bring new investments, new events, new airlines and new visitors.
“Expo provides all Scottish tourism businesses an unmissable opportunity to promote their products and services to tour operators and travel agents across the globe – all under one roof.
“This year, the national tourism organisation is celebrating the Year of Young People at the flagship event, with our modern apprentices and graduates compiling the shortlist for the event’s stand awards which honour exhibitors with the best stands over the two-day travel extravaganza.”
