Simon Applebaum, managing director at Attraction World, has become MD at the attraction specialist’s subsidiary, DayOutWithTheKids.
He replaces Paul Stobbs, who has returned to the role of managing director at Attraction World after spending two years integrating DayOutWithTheKids.
Stobbs first joined Attraction World as managing director when the company was founded in 2006.
DayOutWithTheKids attracts more than 27 million visits to its website, which offers family days out, each year.
The brand says it is now ready to increase its profile in the visitor attractions market and “cement its place as one of the UK’s leading family brands”.
Stobbs said: “Both Attraction World and DayOutWithTheKids are well positioned to thrive within the rapidly-growing tours and activities space.
“We have ambitious plans for both businesses and are excited about providing our customers with access to an amazing range of products, both in the UK and around the world.”
Applebaum has more than 10 years of experience in the travel industry.
Having previously worked for Thomas Cook in a variety of marketing roles, his move to Attraction World saw him overseeing the product portfolio.
He has been joined by four new members of staff at the Birmingham-based website which rebranded in January 2017.
Daniel Mahon joins as a senior developer, having previously worked at The NEC and Ticket Factory.
New Yorker Zach Cabey has relocated to Birmingham and joins the team as new business manager, helping to build relationships with some of the UK’s most popular attractions.
April Pickersgill, who previously worked in the communications teams at Birmingham Children’s Hospital and The Belfry, joins as social media content manager, and new digital content executive Dela Lozanova has moved from a similar role within the wider Attraction World Group.
Applebaum said: “I’m excited to support the growth within our business, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to head up a team that are such brilliant ambassadors for the brand.”
