Ticket agency The Ticket Factory has appointed Kelly Sharman as sales manager for group bookings, as part of a drive to boost group business.
It aims to deliver a more personal level of customer service for existing and prospective group clients.
Sharman has run her own event support consultancy and group sales company, DB Promotions, for the last 25 years.
During that time, she has operated as the official group bookings sales representative for events such as Feld Entertainment (Disney On Ice), The Birmingham International Tattoo and has worked with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).
She said: “The team and I will be bringing a cleaner, slicker group booking solution to market.
“We’re now offering much more of a personal approach, making the purchasing process simpler for bookers and ensuring they have the best experience possible with The Ticket Factory.
“We will also be seizing new opportunities within the groups market, working in collaboration with more event organisers, so we can offer a varied and exciting portfolio of events.
“Having worked closely with The Ticket Factory and the NEC Group on events held at their Birmingham venues in the past, I know what an enthusiastic and expert agency The Ticket Factory is, and I’m looking forward to the opportunities ahead.”
Richard Howle, director of ticketing for the Ticket Factory, added: “Her experience and expertise in the groups market will prove invaluable as we look to extend our reach in this important and valued sector.”
The Ticket Factory sells about 2.5 million tickets a year for a range of comedy events, concerts, sporting events, exhibitions, theatre performances and visitor attractions across the UK.
Last week it announced a partnership with NEC Group Arenas to offer customers a new ‘social’ way to purchase tickets with friends.
As the official box office for the Genting Arena and Arena Birmingham, The Ticket Factory has workd with Edinburgh-based start-up ‘make it social’ (mis) to provide a seamless social group booking experience – claimed to be a first for UK arenas.
