Doncaster Sheffield Airport has unveiled new Welcome to Yorkshire branding and a revamped tourist centre.

The refurbishment is a joint investment between the airport and the Welcome to Yorkshire tourism agency.

The branding features imagery of coast, countryside and famous landmarks, while the tourism centre will provide visitors with offers and promotions to venues, museums, country estates and attractions.

The tourist information centre was officially opened today by Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Sir Gary Verity.

Steve Gill, chief executive of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “An airport is the entrance to the rest of the world, but we are equally proud and privileged to be here as the gateway to Yorkshire.

“Our new facility allows us to showcase everything that is wonderful about our part of the world. Our knowledgeable terminal team will be able to share their enthusiasm for the region, so we can make sure that our visitors get a great Yorkshire welcome as soon as they arrive.”

Sir Gary said: “The striking new branding throughout the terminal is a magnificent way to officially welcome people to Yorkshire when they arrive. It’s been a pleasure to continue our strong partnership with Doncaster Sheffield Airport and unveil the newly refurbished tourist information centre, which is sure to inspire visitors to explore the many highlights that the county has to offer during their stay.”
