Tourism chiefs from Worcestershire are chuffed to announced an event for group travel organisers, which aims promote attractions in the county (February 17-18).
The Severn Valley Railway and the Mercure Heath Hotel Bewdley are on track to offer tour planners from around the country a chance to explore the region, with transport provided by Worcester coach and tour operator, Elgar Coaches.
The partners have teamed with group travel specialist Steve Reed Tourism to arrange activities for coach and tour operators and group travel organisers during the showcase.
On February 17, the group of tour planners will tour top sights of the area and have a ‘welcome to the Severn Valley’ dinner at the Mercure Heath Hotel in Bewdley.
On the following day, they will travel from Kidderminster railway station along length of the Severn Valley with stops and afternoon teas along the way.
Elgar Coaches will link with the train to provide coach transport for the guests.
Victoria Carman, marketing manager for the Severn Valley Railway, said: “We’re so pleased to be working with our local tourism partners including the Mercure Heath Hotel Bewdley and Elgar Coaches to provide what will be a memorable experience for the travel trade.
“There’s no better platform from which to attract new group bookings than to showcase your group offer in this way.”
Tour planners can be day delegates for the February 18 event, and those from further afield are being offered the chance to stay overnight on February 17.
