Dobson, famed for her role as Angie Watts in EastEnders, will play the role from February 2 to April 27, 2019, and Revel Horwood, best known for being a judge on all 16 series of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, will take over as Miss Hannigan from April 30 to July 6, 2019.
The UK tour will visit Wolverhampton, Oxford, Bristol, Chester, Hull, Newcastle, Glasgow, Bradford, Southampton, Plymouth, Llandudno, Nottingham, Southend, Sheffield, Woking, Dartford, Liverpool and Milton Keynes.
This production recently ran for an extended season in the West End following a sell-out tour of the UK and Ireland in 2015-16, as well as a recent sell-out season in Toronto.
The musical is set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression and tells the story of orphan Annie and her attempts to escape from the orphanage run by Miss Hannigan and find her real parents. However, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks.
