Tourism Northern Ireland has partnered with travel influencer network iambassador to host a two-day conference in Belfast that will focus on the future of digital travel content, writes Angie Cronin.
More than 40 bloggers from 14 countries will join delegates from all over the world at the Social Travel Summit (September 25-26), which will be debating innovations in digital travel marketing, and hearing from experts about the latest trends in the industry.
The bloggers include Heather Greenwood Davis from Canada who writes the Globe Trotting Mama blog; Shivya Nath from India, who authors The Shooting Star; and Michael Turtle who writes the Time Travel Turtle blog. They will be sharing their experiences of influencer travel marketing in peer-to-peer sessions at the summit, which is sponsored by VisitBritain.
Other speakers include Jason Miller, global content marketing leader at LinkedIn, and Dana Ditomaso, president and partner at digital marketing agency Kick Point.
The social media influencers will also take part in educational trips across the UK to see first-hand the tourism experiences on offer. Individual itineraries have been created with destination partners including Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, to promote the UK to international visitors.
The trips will highlight the lesser-known experiences and less-explored destinations, alongside iconic landmarks and attractions – aligning with VisitBritain’s global campaign, I Travel For.
