The full cast of Billionaire Boy The Musical, based on the book of the same name by David Walliams, has been announced, writes Angie Cronin.
The cast includes Alex “Teddy” Clements as musical director/ensemble; Ryan Heenan (Grease) as Joe Spud; Avita Jay (The Secret Garden) as Sapphire/Raj; Eleanor Kane (Fun Home) as Lauren; Lem Knights (The Hundred and One Dalmations) as Bob; and Jared Leathwood making his professional debut as Dave Grubb; and Dean Nolan (Big Fish) as Len Spud.
The musical tells the story of factory worker Len Spud and his son Joe who become billionaires overnight after they invent a new loo roll, “Bum Fresh – wet on one side, dry on the other”.
The wiping-wonder is an instant hit. Len and his son Joe become overnight billionaires, turning their lives upside down.
The musical has music by Miranda Cooper and Nick Coler, who together have written 35 top-10 hits for acts such as Girls Aloud, The Sugababes, Gabriella Cilmi and Alesha Dixon.
The musical has a six-week run at the Nuffield Southampton Theatres (November 19-January 6) before heading to Manchester, Coventry and Cardiff.
