US hotel chain Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants has opened its first property in the UK, writes Angie Cronin.
The 334-room Kimpton Fitzroy is in a Grade II-listed Victorian building in Russell Square, London, and is named after the original architect of the building, Charles Fitzroy Doll.
Just a two-minute walk from Russell Square tube station, this hotel is within walking distance of the British Museum and the West End of London.
The hotel has three restaurants and bars, including the Neptune, which offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a range of modern seafood dishes; the 1920s-inspired Fitz’s bar for cocktails; and Burr & Co coffee house.
The property also has a large ballroom, meeting rooms and a 24-hour fitness centre.
Next year will see a continuation of the Kimpton brand’s momentum, with additional hotel openings in key UK cities including Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester.
