A package of group-friendly benefits in Beverley has helped to double the number of group and coach visits since being launched in 2015 by Visit Hull & East Yorkshire.
Beverley has also been awarded Coach Friendly Status by the Confederation of Passenger Transport UK (CPT), which represents most UK bus and coach operators, and was named the UK’s most coach-friendly destination at the British Coach Tourism Awards 2018.
The Beverley Coach Campaign package will return in 2019, offering free coach parking and a special welcome bag for passengers, including a discount voucher booklet.
Groups can also pre-arrange tours or guided walks, such as the Beverley Town Trail, discovering what life was like in medieval Beverley, or a Ghost & History Tour.
Other benefits include a meet-and-greet service, a driver welcome bag – including an £8 meal voucher, key ring, notepad and a pen – and the facility to pre-book group coffee breaks or lunches.
Furthermore, the town has partnered with the £125 million Flemingate retail and leisure development – which runs a service for visiting coaches that includes weekends – so Beverley can host coach companies and tour operators seven days a week.
On the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, Beverley is a popular group travel destination, thanks to its 13th century minster, picturesque streets, antique shops, historic buildings and a range of events throughout the year.
