Brilliant Travel, the homeworking and Managed Service Travel Partner (MSTP) division of Barrhead Travel, has reported its home-based agents have seen consecutive months of record sales so far this year.
On average, the homeworkers are trading up by 35% year-on-year, with more than half citing their best year yet.
Cruise, long-haul and summer getaways are performing well but many of the division’s homeworkers have also noticed a spike in last-minute bookings with 20% of bookings this month for travel before the end of May.
Homeworker Denise O’Connor is among those who have seen a sharp increase in business and high demand from new and existing clients.
Following the pandemic, she was working part-time hours at a major supermarket chain but, earlier this year, she returned to travel full-time.
O’Connor said: “Last year was my best year yet as a home-based agent in Brilliant Travel.
“With so much uncertainty in the wake of Covid, I didn’t feel the time was right to immediately give up my hours in the supermarket.
“Now, it’s clear that demand for travel is not going anywhere. I’m so excited to be back full-time and focus all my energy on my clients and their holiday plans.
