Emirates to restart Edinburgh flights in November

Emirates will restart flights to Edinburgh on November 4 after operations were cancelled in 2020.

The return to Edinburgh will complement a daily A380 superjumbo service from Glasgow to Dubai, boosting the number of flights to 14 a week from Scotland.

The plans come as the airline unveiled the nine destinations it will serve with its new A350 aircraft.

The first of 10 A350s will begin operation in September, with the rest added by March 31, 2025.

Emirates will deploy its first A350 aircraft on a daily service to Bahrain from September 15, with a second daily flight to begin on November 1.

Daily A350 services to Kuwait and Muscat will begin on September 16 and December 1 respectively, while flights to Mumbai and Ahmedabad will both begin on October 27.

Colombo’s fourth daily service will begin on January 1, 2025, while in Europe, Emirates will operate daily flights to both Lyon and Bologna from December 1.

Flights to destinations served by the airline’s A350 aircraft are now on sale.

Three cabin classes are available, with 32 seats in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy and 259 in Economy.

Adnan Kazim, deputy president and chief commercial officer, said: “The A350 will be a game-changer for Emirates, enabling us to serve regional points with superior operating efficiency and flexibility across the Middle East and Gulf Corporation Council (GCC), West Asia and Europe.

“With the latest generation cabin products including more of our sought-after Premium Economy to more cities, top-notch in-flight entertainment technologies and an abundance of other customer-friendly features, the Emirates A350 builds on our long-standing commitment of investing in the very best customer experience in the sky.

“Flying the A350 to nine cities in such a short span of time adds more premium cabin options and choice across geographies for our customers and ensures we maintain our competitive edge and industry leading position.”
