Chartered accountant Colin Child was today confirmed as non-executive chairman of African low-cost carrier Fastjet.
Child was group finance director of De La Rue from 2010 to July 2015 and joins the airline on October 1.
Clive Carver, who has acted as interim non-executive chairman since April, will resume his role as a non-executive director on the same date.
Fastjet chief executive, Ed Winter, said: “Colin brings with him valuable and highly relevant experience to Fastjet which will enable him to make a significant contribution to the board and the strategic direction of the business.
“On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank Clive Carver for providing invaluable guidance and support to the company while acting as interim chairman.”
Child said: “With a growing fleet and developing route network, this is an exciting time in the company’s development and I look forward to working with Ed and the rest of the board as the company expands across Africa and pursues its strategic goals.”
