The first ever Guernsey Food Festival will take place between September 18-27, showcasing the island’s local produce in a series of tours, dinners and interactive events.
A highlight of the week’s agenda will be a masterclass with French chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli, on September 27 from midday until 2pm. The teaching session will give budding chefs the opportunity to gain real knowledge and insight from one of the world’s most famous gastronomic experts.
Those unable to secure a ticket for this event can stroll along the seafront to St. Peter Port and watch Novelli’s skills live in action in two demonstrations at the Seafront Sunday Live Food Show, also on September 27.
As well as cook-offs and live cooking demonstrations, there will be a talk from star guest Prue Leith, foraging workshops, themed gastro events –including a Prohibition Supper on September 26 – and the first dedicated Guernsey Beer & Cider Festival.
